In March 2023, the online magazine AI Crunch published an interview with the CEO of SentiSquare, Tomáš Brychcín. What are the trends and innovations in the field of NLP, how do you see the future of AI in text processing or what are the most successful projects at SentiSquare? These and many other questions will be answered in the following interview.
SentiSquare is a technology company that analyzes customer-generated text. It offers solutions for different areas such as marketing, customer care or compliance. In our interview, we talked to SentiSquare founder and CEO Tomáš Brychcín.
What are the biggest trends and innovations in the NLP industry?
A very representative example from the NLP field is ChatGPT by OpenAI. Here they have managed to show people in a playful way how far machine learning and NLP have come in the last decade. ChatGPT can understand natural language input very well. It is the automatic understanding of the text that is a crucial part in processing and evaluating communication. I would call the current trend in NLP and artificial intelligence in general "bigger is better". Big tech companies are racing to see who can create a bigger and more complex language model (with more training parameters) to show the potential of the technology.
How do you see the future of AI in text processing?
I see the future of AI and NLP in simplification. Today, the trend is towards so-called No-code / Low-code platforms for various activities, where the goal is to allow users without expert knowledge to create content on those platforms. SentiSquare is no exception. Our No-code NLP platform aims to make NLP accessible without the need to code and hire people with Ph.D. I believe that in the future, similar solutions will become more and more available and machine learning and artificial intelligence will be everywhere.
Let's go back to SentiSquare. What are your most successful projects and collaborations with clients?
We are most proud of our collaboration with E.ON, where we manage email communication, get information from calls at the call center and from customer feedback. It's a great endorsement for us to be able to deliver NLP to companies like Seznam.cz and Kiwi.com, who have top-notch IT. It is also worth mentioning Rohlik.cz and its alternatives in Germany, Austria, Hungary etc. where we process millions of verbal reviews from customers.

As one of the few companies uses artificial intelligence based on principles of distribution semantics, which provides many competitive advantages, such as language independence. The company was founded in 2014 as a spin-off by team of researchers at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
