SentiSquare in Forbes: Do not do robots’ work!_

Published on 15|11|2019 by Lucie Kolářová & Hana Vavřincová

It was a great honor to appear in the November issue of Forbes magazine. In its technology section, you can read a multi-page article about SentiSquare.

Specifically, you can read about how the founders Josef Steinberger, Tomáš Brychcín and Michal Konkol met at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and after their successful academic careers started to work for our startup in 2014. They received great feedback on their technology, but the challenge was to figure out how to deploy it in business and monetize it. They finally succeeded when they focused on automating the internal processes of companies. More and more information flows from customers to companies and it is no longer possible for humans to handle it. Then comes SentiSquare.

SentiSquare helps to eliminate manual work and leave it to robots.

“We simulate human behavior. The human brain works by learning to understand the meaning represented by different words and sentences assembled from them. Our machine can do the same without us telling it what to learn or how to learn it in the first place,” says Steinberger.

Companies such as T-Mobile, E.ON, Kiwi and Albert are already using SentiSquare’s technology. The principles of distributional semantics on which SentiSquare’s technology works guarantee language independence - it does not matter which language customers communicate in. SentiSquare’s AI can handle Japanese or Chinese, at the same time it understands slang expressions and does not mind typos. It is equally irrelevant whether the customers texts come in the form of an SMS, an e-mail, a call center transcript or are obtained via questionnaires; everything can be processed.

“Everyone now understands that artificial intelligence is the future. And everyone wants to make it. We are in the advantage because we had started with it in the right moment, so we have a little lead,” says Michal Konkol.
